Embarking on an unexpected yet deeply fulfilling career, I never imagined working with dogs would become my passion and purpose. With dogs as cherished members of my family throughout my adult life, this profession feels like a dream realised.
My journey commenced at seventeen when I entered the workforce as a laborer in a boat building company. This experience not only honed my manual skills but also unveiled a passion for machinery, fabrication, and welding. Meeting my wife, Nikki, over two decades ago, she has been my unwavering supporter, contributing significantly to the person I am today.
Transitioning from a 24-year tenure in the marine industry to working with a tanker company, I engaged in diverse projects, including the manufacturing of military stainless steel tankers. My commitment to personal growth led me to obtain certificates III and IV in engineering through continuous training.
The turning point towards Canine Hydrotherapy was driven by a profound personal experience with my beloved dog, Scout, diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy at the age of 8. Witnessing his gradual loss of mobility was heartbreaking, yet the positive impact of hydrotherapy on Scout’s well-being inspired me. Before Scout’s passing in 2022, I vowed to extend that help to other dogs in need.
This commitment led me to pursue certification as a Canine Hydrotherapist through Canine Health and Wellbeing Academy, with the full support of Nikki. Now, as a Certified Canine Hydrotherapist and a proud member of the Australian Canine Rehabilitation Association (ACRA), I am thrilled to embark on the journey of establishing my hydrotherapy clinic. I look forward to the next chapter, where I can contribute to the well-being of your beloved pets through specialised hydrotherapy services.
